State Testing Programs STAAR and STAAR Modified is administered in the following grades/subjects:
3rd grade -- Math and Reading; English and Spanish versions available 4th grade -- Math, Reading and Writing; English and Spanish versions available 5th grade -- Math, Reading and Science; English and Spanish versions available 6th grade -- Math and Reading 7th grade -- Math, Reading and Writing 8th grade -- Math, Reading, Science and Social Studies

EOC and EOC Modified is administered in the following subjects:

STAAR-Alt is administered only to students with significant cognitive disabilities. Training and information about STAAR-Alt goes through the AISD Special Education Department.
STAAR L can be administered to LEP students who meet participation requirements. The STAAR L is a linguistically accommodated English version of the STAAR and is available at grades 3-8 and EOC in math, science, and social studies.

TELPAS Reading is administered online to LEP students in grades 2-12. Listening, speaking, reading and writing domains are holistically rated for grade K-1 LEP students and listening, speaking and writing are holistically rated for grade 2-12 LEP students.
TAKS, TAKS-A and TAKS-M is administered in the following grades/subjects:
10th grade -- Math, Reading, Science and Social Studies 11th grade -- Math, Reading, Science and Social Studies
12th grade and beyond -- 12th grade students and students who did not graduate because they did not pass all sections of the Exit Level TAKS or TAKS-A test (TAKS-M is not available after 11th grade) will have four opportunities each year to retest. 12th grade students test on their home campus while out-of-school students test at the AISD Education Support Center. Registration is required for out-of-school students to test.
